Healing in the New Testament

The number of healings of individuals recorded in the Old Testament does not compare with the considerable number detailed in the New Testament. During His three-year ministry, Jesus healed many times the numbers that were healed during the preceding 2,000 years. With the coming of the Messiah, there was a gushing forth of the mercies of God; and with this we notice that sickness or health is no longer emphasized as a means or judgment for sin or a reward for obedience.
