Description:
Produced by friend and fellow worship leader Chris Lizotte and featuring guitarist Marc Ford, The Spirit, The Water, and The Blood is the ragged-but-true sound of a sinner saved by grace, lifting up a thankful heart to Jesus with his guitar and voice. In his debut release with Varietal, Ryan crafts simple songs with a poetic depth that invites his listeners to join him and lift their voices to commune with God.
Delmore's sound has been compared to that of Tom Petty, Bob Dylan, Neil Young and Ryan Adams. But the heart and soul of his songs owe much more to the influence of his songwriting hero and mentor John Barnett, as well as to fellow worship leaders Chris Lizotte, Adam Russell (The Embers), Josh White, Steven Collins of Deadman,Martin Smith and John Mark McMillan.
About Ryan:
Ryan Delmore and his wife Sarah, along with their four children, live on the central coast of California. Ryan and his family attend the Five Cities Vineyard Church in Arroyo Grande, a small agricultural community nestled between vast, rolling acres of farmland and wineries, and the rugged beauty of the Pacific Ocean's shoreline. "It's the land that Steinbeck wrote about in most of his books, and I think it definitely influences artists who live here", says Delmore.
A worship leader in the Vineyard church for over 15 years, Ryan has written and recorded several songs with Vineyard Music, including "Better Than Life", "Let It Come", "Jesus' Name" and "Love Of God". Streams of country, rock, gospel, and folk blend together to create the unique "Americana" sound that carries his intimate worship and passionate praises to God. "Ragged but true" is how he describes the music. Stylistically Delmore has been compared to Tom Petty, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, and Ryan Adams among others. But the heart and soul of his simple, yet poetic songs owe much more to the influence of his songwriting hero and mentor, John Barnett, as well as fellow worship leaders Chris Lizotte, Adam Russell (The Embers), Josh White, Steven Collins (Deadman), John Mark McMillan and Martin Smith.
Ryan's latest record, The Spirit, The Water, And The Blood invites his listeners to join him in lifting up a thankful heart of praise to God as well as quietly reflecting on the saving work of Jesus' sacrifice on the cross. Produced and recorded by singer/songwriter/worship leader and good friend Chris Lizotte - and featuring guitarist Marc Ford (Ben Harper, Ryan Bingham) - the loose, live feel of the songs make it feel more like "a raucous Sunday morning service" rather than just another worship album.
