Hermeneutics is the study of interpretation theory. Biblical hermeneutics refers to the study and interpretation of the written texts which have been canonized to form the Bible as we know it. When we approach the biblical text, we must realize that it is made up of a set of interrelated relationships. There is also a relationship between the text and the interpreter. The act of interpreting Scripture, as you will find out in this course, takes place in a context of multiple relationships. This may make biblical interpretation seem complicated at first, but with practice, the interpreter will soon realize that this is something that all of us engage in quite naturally most of the time.
Introduction to Biblical Interpretation is part of the Vineyard Bible Institute's School of Ministry. These DVDs may be utilized in a small group setting.
Presenters: Derek Morphew, Author of Breakthrough and Different But Equal. Derek and his family live in Capetown South Africa.
